Sometimes can be useful to change Grub’s automatic behavior. Here is a basic custom configuration how-to.

vi /etc/default/grub

default selection (0 = the first):

GRUB_DEFAULT=0

to change timeout:

GRUB_TIMEOUT=7

then:

update-grub
